The season begins with the famous three day May Festival putting Chester in the racing spotlight nationally. Months have been spent preparing the turf for the May Festival at Chester Races; the horses, the jockeys, not to mention the racegoers outfits, and the stage is set for three days of great racing featuring the Chester Cup on Wednesday, the Chester Vase on Thursday, which is also Ladies’ Day, and culminating on Friday with the historic Ormonde Stakes.

Dine & View Restaurants

The Turf Restaurant is located on the ground floor of the County Stand. The Final Furlong Restaurant is located in the Tented Village in the centre of the course. The White Rose Restaurant is located overlooking the Parade Ring in the centre of the course. Only available for the May Festival, Dine & View Trackside is located in a prime position in the tented village, centre of the course

Q: Is there a Dress Code for Chester Races?
A: Chester Racecourse operates a strict Dress Code: Gentlemen are required to wear a well-tailored suit or a blazer or sports jacket, with smart trousers, together with a shirt, collar and tie. Ladies are required to wear a dress, Skirt or smart trouser suit ( no excessively revealing clothing ). No denim jeans of any colour, no trainers, no sportswear and no fancy dress will be permitted.

Q: When is ladies day at Chester races?
A: Chester have four Ladies Days through the year in May, June, July & August, click here for more information on ladies day events.

Q: What time should I arrive for Hospitality?
A: Typically gates will open two hours prior to the first race, normally 11.30am on a daytime fixture and 4:30pm on an evening fixture.
